Meet Meghan And Jared
Born and raised in Oconee County, Jared and Meghan Ketterman are proud to be back to their hometown after both spending time building careers before coming back home.
Upon returning to Walhalla in 2015, Jared wanted to have an impact on his hometown.
After buying his first building and renovating it into the Twenty8West Outdoor Adventure Store on Main Street in Walhalla, Jared and Meghan saw continued opportunity for their quaint little town.
Standing on main street with another local business owner in October 2017, brainstorming about the potential of the historical building, the idea of the need for somewhere to stay in Walhalla was born. Jared and Meghan decided to renovate the what used to be old shop-keeper quarters above the main street level and put the first AirBnB rentals to support the tourism that Jared saw coming through Walhalla. Their vision was to create an opportunity for the outdoorsman who sought adventure on their town’s rivers, hiking trails, biking trails and lakes.
With creative mind and talented construction hand of Brian “Hooch” Turner, Jared and Meghan designed the complete renovation of the second floor space. Keeping the historical character of the original space including exposed brick walls and wooden floors, Jared and Meghan added a cozy, whimsical feel that invites all guests into their home away from home. The space was designed with an up-scale New York Loft apartment layout while adding the warm, rustic ambiance of our little Main Street-to-Mountain Town.
Both the Chattooga Room and the Walhalla Room are outfitted with a full kitchen that would service any chef’s culinary needs. The bathroom and shower in each room were specially designed and will make any weary traveler relax to wash away the day.
Lofts Over Main officially welcomed its first of many guests in January 2018 and have become a sanctuary for those traveling to and through our lovely town of Walhalla, South Carolina.
It is such a special place for not only guests but to Jared and Meghan that Jared proposed to Meghan in December of 2017 in the Lofts. They certainly carry many special memories for many people. Oh! If those walls could talk.
